Hey Good Lookin'

Given my somewhat conservative nature... really... don't laugh. It's true, I'm not usually the one who takes crazy chances or does wildly daring things... however, when a girl meets a guy that has an accent, charming personality, and cooking skills (especially in my case since dinner, unless it's eaten out, means a bowl of frosted flakes) her overly-cautious attitude might just get sidelined for a night.

That said, I'm off on another adventure ;)

Oh goodie! And a valid excuse to check out the Fontainebleau since it reopened!

Big Sigh

If there was ANY possible way to extend this past weekend just a few more days, I would have done it in a heartbeat. I repeat, in a heartbeat.

My little red car couldn't get to The Hotel of South Beach fast enough post-work on Friday afternoon...

Sporting a smurfy blue t-bags dress (check out some of the latest t-bags at http://www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/Designers/T_Bags?cm_mmc=GoogleUS-_-CoreDesigners-_-TBags-_-TBags&bbcid=2650 ) and the 1837 necklace that I absolutely cannot live without, I caught up with two of my favorite inet industry pals on Friday evening for a little sushi and sake at Sushi Samba Dromo. Well, ok, maybe more than a little ;)

The next morning called for an extra strong mocha latte followed by a brisk walk to the Loew's Hotel for the Sushi/Wine Pairing featuring Chef Thomas Buckley from Nobu. In case you haven't already guessed, I find it hard to get enough raw fish and rice... must be a subconsious rebellion against my Midwestern meat and potato upbringing. Well, Miami certainly has plenty of top notch sushi spots (and chefs) to choose from.

Of course, the ultimate highlight was the "Grand Tasting" on Sunday afternoon. Goat cheese and almond covered olives, caviar, ceviche, cheeses of every kind, lemon tarts, red velvet cake... no good food or wine sample went unexplored. My tasting companion took a particular liking to the Evian booth and its handsome associated representative.

He was extremely easy on the eyes, but then again...

So were our two new favorite friends at the Hotel Victor. (http://www.hotelvictorsouthbeach.com)

What was supposed to be a "quick" stop before heading to the Shore Club on Sunday evening ended up turning into a few more greyhounds then we'd care to admit. I'll just use the "I'm fascinated by the jellyfish tank" line and play this one off. Wink, wink.

Ready for the Reds...

How excited am I to be headed to the South Beach Food & Wine Fest this coming weekend?!!! With one of my favorite LA girlfriends in tow, I'll be sampling the pinots... the cabs... the malbecs... the zins (that would be red zin darling, don't you dare mistake it for that pink crap)... and, yes, even the merlots. No red will be left behind! Haven't heard of this star-studded culinary weekend? Get with the program! www.sobewineandfoodfest.com/2009/static.php?id=4

Oh heavens! Here we go again, time to scour the closet for the weekend's attire. If I would have won that $5,000 "Confessions of a Shopoholic" giveaway on BlueFly.com, certainly there would be no issue. Well, I did pick up an adorable "kermit the frog" green Alice & Olivia dress from Saks Off 5th. It ain't easy being green... unless it involves wearing something from Alice & Oliva. Quite easily becoming a favorite designer of mine. I mean, check out how fun this dress is:

Someday perhaps this little bloggie blog will magically turn into a way of funding my penchant for designer clothes, shoes, jewerly and handbags. Can't hurt to dream.

I'll have much, much more to dish when I return dolls. One never knows who one might see in Miami... no gameshow hosts please, I've had my fill.

What ARE you thinking?

OK, so Erin needs to come back to her senses and grab JR before someone else does! Girl, why you crying over Duncan's shaggy self? I just want to grab an electric razor, shave his face, and give him a few greasy hamburgers.

Missed this week's episode of The City? You can catch it in a few days at: www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/the-city/videos-full-episodes.jhtml

Did you watch Jay's painful gig at the Gansevoort in NYC last week? The gig bombed, but the hotel is far from a dud: www.hotelgansevoort.com/

However, even better yet, in my humble blonde opinion, is the Gansevoort South. My own personal experience celebrating New Year's Eve in this chic hotel has made me a forever fan: www.gansevoortsouth.com/restaurants-bars-lounges/index.cfm

Sipping a martini at the bar a few seats away from Dennis Rodman, dining at Philippe, taking the freight elevator down to the ballroom to hear T.I. perform "Live Your Life" live. Loved every chaotic moment! What fabulous frocks were the South Beach gals wearing you ask? The shorter the better my darlings... check out this hot number and you'll see what I mean: www.bluefly.com/Tufi-Duek-black-color-blocked-sequin-mini-shift-dress/cat20114/208294200/detail.fly

Out for this evening sweets, more soon. XOXO!
